Our campuses offer tailored programs that integrate wellbeing and education, ensuring young people receive the individualised support they need to thrive. We work closely with families, community organisations, and support services to provide wraparound support that addresses both educational and personal development needs.

Our Young People 
Young people come from diverse backgrounds and often face a significant and complex range of educational, social, developmental, environmental, psychological, health, legal barriers to learning which require unique interventions. Our approach is grounded in the Operation By Principles framework, which combines education with an understanding of trauma-informed practices. 

We recognise that each young person’s journey is unique. Our staff are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and empowering learning environment where young people can develop confidence, reconnect with education, and work towards their goals

Our Team 

Saints Knowledge Institute is a new centre for research, training and advocacy dedicated to radically inclusive, flexible education. We bring together evidence, expertise and lived experience to support schools, educators and systems to meet the need of all young people especially those who have been let down and left behind by conventional approaches to learning. 

Job Description

The Role

The Education and Training Program Consultant is responsible for the development and delivery of training programs and services offered by the Saints Knowledge Institute. The role will continually collaborate with other services and education providers to identify areas of opportunity and growth for the Institute. 

You will be employed on a fixed-term basis for 2 years, we are open for the position to be either Full time 1.0 FTE or Part time 0.6 FTE. Commencing as soon as possible and will be employed under the Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.

We are open to applicants from a Teaching background and a Youth Work background the classifications for a Youth Worker will be Category A ESS Level 4, with a salary range of $93,881 to $106,935 (depending on education and experience). Teaching salary range of $79,589 to $118,063 (depending on education and experience). 

Desired Skills and Experience

You will need

  • Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty
  • Degree in Education or Social Work or equivalent education and experience and Postgraduate Qualifications in Education, Psychology, Social Work or similar is desired
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and provide a National Police Check certificate (issued within the last six months) or Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
  • Experience working face-to-face with young people impacted by trauma, enhancing capacity of the applicant to respond to questions from clients regarding responding in a trauma informed way
  • Experience working face-to-face with young people with a disability is desirable
  • Experience in providing professional supervision and coaching to professionals
  • Experience in the development and design of training programs
  • Proven experience in the facilitation of training programs, particularly for the education and community services sector
  • Experience leading other professionals in complex environments 
  • Proven skills in responding to young people impacted by trauma in a therapeutic and trauma informed manner
  • Proven networking and key relationship building capabilities
  • Proven skills in the research, development and design of training programs
  • Proven skills in the facilitation of training programs and services for schools and/or community services organisations
  • Strong Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with a range of people
  • Experience in supporting young people with disability and/or neurodivergence
  • The ability to inspire and engage young people with learning activities
  • Be willing to support young people and our team members to reach their potential
